City of Decatur 2022-2023 Budget Schedule

The following are important dates in the budget schedule for the City of Decatur’s Fiscal Year 2022-2023 budget process, subject to City Commission approval.

  • June 6, 2022:  Public Hearing on Proposed FY 2022-2023 Budget and Revised 2021-2022 Budget at 7:30 pm at Decatur City Hall
  • June 8, 2022:  Budget Work Session at 5 p.m. at Decatur City Hall
  • June 13, 2022: Public Hearing on 2022 Millage Rates at 6 p.m. at Decatur City Hall (if necessary)
  • June 21, 2022: Public Hearing on 2022 Millage Rates at 3:30 p.m. at Decatur City Hall (if necessary)
  • June 21, 2022: Public Hearing and Scheduled Adoption of Proposed FY 2022-2023 Budget and Revised FY 2021-2022 Budget and 2022 Millage Rates at 7:30 p.m. at Decatur City Hall

All public hearings on the City budget will be held at Decatur City Hall located at 509 N. McDonough Street. Virtual attendance and participation in the public hearings is also available. Go to decaturga.com/budget to access the registration links. The City has not received the property tax digest from DeKalb County yet so dates and/or times for millage rate public hearings are subject to change.

Beginning Wednesday, May 18, copies of the FY 2022-2023 Proposed Budget and FY 2021-2022 Revised Budget will be available at Decatur City Hall and at the Decatur Library on Sycamore Street as well as on the City’s website at decaturga.com/budget.  

Following formal presentation of the budget to the Decatur City Commission, the City will publish a legal advertisement with more detailed information about the budget amounts and again identify the public hearing dates.
