Celebrate the Fourth of July hometown-style in downtown Decatur!

Watch (or join in) the Pied Piper Parade as it winds through downtown with floats, wagons, and bicycles. Gather friends and family to ride, walk, or skate in this community parade – it’s for anyone and everyone! Neighborhoods and organizations are encouraged to join the fun too. And don’t forget your red, white and blue!

Head to the community bandstand to listen to live music on the square. Summer Covers Concerts on the Square at 5 pm (MetroGnomes) and 7 pm (Ghoststories).

End the evening with a boom! Fireworks start at dark (approximately 9 pm). Get here early to to claim your space on the lawn for the show.

 


Pied Piper Parade:

Join in by foot, bike, wagon, vintage/specialty car, float or any creative method of your choice. Prizes will be awarded for best decorated bikes and floats.

Parade line-up begins at 5:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Decatur located at 308 Clairemont Ave, Decatur, GA 30030. Pedestrians should gather on the lawn and vehicles will line up in the parking lot.

Fireworks:

The City of Decatur plans to launch its annual fireworks display on Tuesday, July 4, beginning at dark (approximately 9 p.m.).The community is encouraged to find a safe, socially distanced place to watch the 15-20 minute show that will launch from the top of the DeKalb County Parking Deck. Streets in the fireworks fall-out zone will be closed.

Sponsored by City of Decatur and the Decatur Business Association. Free.
