Note: The Planning Commission recommended changes to the zoning ordinance at their meeting on Thursday, Nov. 10. The City Commission will consider these changes on Monday, Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m. at the temporary City Hall. The proposed amendments that the City Commission will consider are posted below.

About the Planning Commission

The Planning Commission is established by local ordinance. It conducts public hearings on land use and zoning changes, proposed subdivisions of property and proposed planned unit developments, and recommends actions for consideration by the City Commissioners. It also reviews and recommends changes in zoning regulations and future land-use plans. The Planning Commission meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Work sessions, if any, are held at 5:30 p.m. Current members are Fleur Hartman, Hutch Moore, Jack Rhodes (chair), Bill Waugh, Tony Powers (vice-chair) and James T. (Jimmy) Smith III. The Planning Commission is staffed by Amanda Thompson, Planning Director. Call 404-370-4104 or send an email.
