Overview

The emergency management director coordinates the city's emergency planning, response and recovery efforts to ensure the city is as well prepared as possible for any emergency. The police chief and fire chief report to the emergency management director in order to maximize resources and coordinate efforts effectively. In addition, the public works department is considered to be a "first responder" and works in partnership with fire and police.

The city has long had a basic emergency management model designed for use on any incident. This model will be expanded to meet evolving needs of the community.
