During the 2012 legislative session, the Georgia General Assembly adopted significant revisions to the Georgia Open Meetings/Open Records Act. In order to meet several of the law’s requirements, the city has established two open records officers to serve as the custodians of all open record requests for the City of Decatur.

* The requester is not charged for the first fifteen minutes of time. Charges for time are not to exceed the salary of the lowest paid full-time employee who, in the discretion of the custodian of the records, has the necessary skill and training to fulfill the request.
